My apologies, this post is very photo heavy and the formatting just won’t work.
As I mentioned before, my husband planned our honeymoon and surprised me with it. He did a great job of keeping the secret–I didn’t know where we were going until we arrived at the airport! We flew into Montego Bay, Jamaica and stayed at Secrets St. James. We would both highly recommend this resort, we had such a great time. It was an all-inclusive so the food was not amazing but it was better than I expected it would be. Here are some of the highlights:
The first night we went to the hibachi restaurant–tom yum soup {good} and sushi {not good} to start, beef, chicken, tilapia, shrimp, fried rice and vegetables for the main course. It was all delicious but I could have eaten a whole plate of just the vegetables!
Jeromy did a lot of research in order to choose this resort and knew that the French restaurant was popular, so we went there on our second night. We had the duck and the seafood stew. Both were delicious.
Almost every day, lunch involved jerk chicken. It was incredibly delicious. There was a man who would walk the path between all of the pools and beaches and serve it to you off the grill. We ordinarily sat right outside with our plate. There were a few rare occasions when we went to one of the restaurants for lunch, but one of us always ended up getting the jerk chicken. I brought some of the jerk seasoning mix home and can’t wait to try to recreate this on our grill over the summer.
The one complaint that I have with the food is that it was incredibly hard to find meat-free options. One day we went to the lunch buffet just so I could make a ginormous salad. {That is a piece of jerk chicken on the plate. I just couldn’t help it!}
Part of our honeymoon package {I can’t say it enough–my husband did an amazing job planning, it was so special} was a champagne breakfast in bed, which is below. See the flowers on the left side of the table? I received those when we arrived because we were on our honeymoon. My husband is too good to me

After a few days, it gets a little hard to decide what you want to eat:
We managed to muddle through somehow
That night we ate at the Mexican restaurant and our meal was disappointing, except for the coconut shrimp, which was delicious. The vegetable enchiladas were subpar–the only vegetarian entrée I found the entire time! I had high hopes, but didn’t even eat most of it.

Not shockingly, one of the best restaurants was the Jamaican restaurant. I had the seafood paella {I can’t remember what it was called on the menu} and Jeromy had the goat curry. We really enjoyed that meal.
The highlight at the Italian restaurant was definitely the appetizers. We had the chef’s selection, the calamari and the bruschetta and I think we could have made a meal out of just those plates!
Our last night in paradise, Jeromy arranged for a romantic candlelit dinner on the beach. It was incredible.
We can’t wait to go back to celebrate our anniversary!
