About Me

IMG_1291

Hi! I’m Lisa, the blogger behind The Splattered Apron.

My goal is to show my readers that cooking and baking don’t have to be intimidating and scary–they can be fun! With a little bit of know-how and some confidence in the kitchen, anyone can put together delicious meals from scratch.

I strive to use whole, unprocessed foods in all of my cooking and baking, but I’m not always successful. We are an omnivorous family which is reflected in my recipes but we don’t shy away from recipes that are vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free or dairy-free.  While I try to serve my family healthy meals, I do believe in pasta, bread, cheese, butter, cream and sugar. Everything in moderation works for us. I do not have any culinary training, but I have learned a lot from trial and error, cookbooks, blogs and even Food Network {gasp}.

Every day I thank my lucky stars that I’m traveling down the road of life with my husband Jeromy, our daughter Caroline and our newest addition {a boy!}, expected in October 2013.  I’m excited to share our messy adventures in the kitchen with you!

Please feel free to leave a comment or question or contact me at thesplatteredapron@gmail.com.

Thanks for stopping by!

I just went through almost all of your past posts. I loved reading all of it. I am going to make the spinach and shrimp salad or actually Uncle Michael is going to make the salad one of these nights. We are also cleaning out the refrig and freezer–need to use it all up and then go out and buy fresh.

Can't wait to read more!

Karen!! Dr. Spitz!! Thank you so much for checking out my blog :-) I hope you'll keep reading! And thanks for the congratulations, it's been a big year but I am so happy and excited about what the future brings. When we bring the baby up to MA we'll try to stop by so you can meet her {and do what you can to make sure she doesn't have horrible teeth like me} ;-) So good to hear from you!
