I have a small confession to make. It’s a teeny tiny thing.
I haven’t participated in Tina‘s Best Body Boot Camp in weeks.
I know.
I’m feeling soft and out of shape. What happened to the girl who was so motivated to get in shape? Who had her sights set on the Army Ten Miler? She needs a swift kick in the pants to get back at it.
I could give you all kinds of excuses. I was preparing for Caroline’s first birthday party. We’ve been traveling. I’ve had chores to do. My knee hurt after doing the first week of Best Body Boot Camp. It was my birthday.
But all of these excuses don’t make up for the fact that I’m letting myself down. Plain and simple. I’m not keeping my promise to myself to make my health a priority. For me. For my family.
So I’m going to get back to basics. Go for a run. Create a plan to get myself over the finish line at the Army Ten Miler. Pick up where I left off with Best Body Boot Camp. Participate in #plankaday.
It’s hard to figure out what can fall to the wayside in order to make this happen. There are only so many hours in the day. But I know whatever doesn’t happen will be worth getting back in shape. My health is more valuable than anything else—I plan to be around for my daughter for a very very VERY long time.
Do you have any tips to share that will help me stay motivated?

I think the first step is just starting it up again. Sometimes for me that’s the hardest. Even as I sit here I know I need to go run but I’m in that rut too and I know if I just go do it, I’ll quickly feel energized and motivated again.
I know exactly where you are right now. You’ll snap out of it! I know you will!

Run to the playground!! I know C loves the swings, and you love seeing her laugh and smile. So make that your goal – run her to the park, play together, then run home…gets you both outside, active and together

I stopped doing it too! I got busy. which I guess is also some excuses but I definitely thought I would have enough time. Now I started CrossFit so I can’t do both.
There will always be some days that you don’t feel like doing anything but the problems is having too many of those days in a row. If I ever don’t feel like doing something I give myself 5-10 minutes. If I start a workout and in 5 or so minutes I’m just not feeling it than I let myself stop (this very rarely happens).
That’s a good idea, I’ll give it a try.
