Looking Forward to 2014

by Lisa on January 3, 2014

For the past few days I’ve been trying to put down on paper {screen?} my goals for 2014. I’ve enjoyed writing them out for the past couple of years {2013 and 2012}, but to say that I didn’t accomplish my goals last year would be a huge understatement. I’m okay with that seeing as we did have a baby and are building a house, two goals that we did want to accomplish in 2013, even though I didn’t include them on my list.

Since starting the process to build the house, it has felt like we are living in a constant state of transition. First we sorted through and packed up our entire house into an apartment and a storage unit. When I gave birth to Atticus, our nanny share ended and Caroline stayed home with me and Atticus during my maternity leave. In two months, I’ll go back to work and our family will transition into one with two working parents. We still don’t know what our childcare arrangement will be. And hopefully shortly thereafter, we’ll be moving into our new house.

That’s a lot of change.

As far as goals go, aside from a happy, healthy family and getting our new home in order, I’m taking it easy. Maybe halfway through the year, if we’re feeling settled, I’ll revisit the idea of goals for the second half of 2014. For now, I want to enjoy the rest of the time off that I have with my kids and focus on the exciting things to come.

Did you set any goals for 2014?

My resolution for 2014 is for a happy and healthy family. That is one adorable family you have there!
