If you missed my first installment of Munchkin Meals, you can find it here.
Thanks, of course, to Brittany for hosting!
As a working mom, I pack two of the three meals that Caroline eats every day. So when I have time off, it’s a special treat to be able to have all of our meals together. Here’s a day of what Caroline ate while we were visiting my parents!
Breakfast
Blueberries, organic applesauce, organic mini waffles and scrambled eggs {Caroline is now eating the whole egg, not just yolks}.
Lunch
Turkey, cheddar cheese, cucumber and cherries. Chased by water.
Dinner
Mini organic cheese ravioli, organic chicken and apple sausage, green beans, mashed potatoes, organic whole milk yogurt and cherries. Also chased by water.
I swear Caroline has a hollow leg because she can really put away the food, although I don’t think she ever finished a full plate pictured above. One thing I need to work on is preparing just as much food as she eats, not more that then goes to waste.

It’s difficult to prepare just enough for sure. Especially since they go through growth spurts! We just offer small amounts because it’s always easier to add more than take away. Those cherries are making me want to head to the store!
Yeah, I need to do that. I make large batches of food for her all at once so I just need to remember to heat up only a small amount and then add as necessary. The cherries were delicious!
It’s so fun to see what we have to look forward to with our 7 month old beyond purees! How many times a day is Caroline nursing now? As she has dropped feedings, have you increased the amount you send in a bottle to daycare? Thanks!
Hi Laura! Caroline nurses 5 times a day. She hasn’t dropped any nursing sessions completely, though she does sometimes skip her late afternoon bottle {though if I’m home with her, she always nurses at that time, just not for as long}. Our nanny gives Caroline 2 6 oz bottles and 1 4 oz bottle throughout the day, plus her meals and water. The 4 oz bottle is normally the one she decided to only have a little bit or she goes without all together. Getting away from purees and more into solids is so much fun and Caroline really enjoys being able to feed herself. Hope this helps!
