Happy Tuesday! Welcome to the first edition of Pinteresting Recipes. I started this series as a challenge to myself. I am always pinning recipes but I hardly ever make them! This series will force me to take a look at my Pinterest boards and try some new recipes. I hope you’re as excited as I am to dive into the kitchen!
This week, I chose a slow cooker recipe. I’m always looking for ways to feed my family a good meal with little time during the week and I consistently forget to use my slow cooker. Well, this recipe was a great reminder!
Slow Cooker Asian Pork Shoulder

Here’s how my version turned out:
Jeromy and I both really liked this recipe. It has the texture of pulled pork but with distinctly Asian flavors. My thoughts on the recipe:
- I wasn’t home and didn’t leave the scallions out to be added when the recipe called for them, so I just added them raw as a garnish.
- I would use sugar snap peas next time instead of snow peas. The snow peas really lost texture by being cooked for an hour in the slow cooker. Mushy veggies are not my thing.
- I forgot to make a grain to serve with the pork, I would highly recommend serving it along side something!
I am adding this recipe to my growing slow cooker repertoire. A Pinteresting Recipe success!
What about you? What did you try this week?
