Something Sweet {Nutella Banana Milkshake}

by Lisa on March 19, 2011

Today I spent the day learning how to make a Roman feast with Chef Roberto Donna of Galileo III.  There was homemade pasta, bacon, mushrooms, burrata, anchovies and so many other flavors that were just incredible.  It was a delicious meal and I can’t wait to recreate it for Jeromy.  As soon as the chef e-mails me the recipes, I will share them with you!

For the past few days I have been thinking about milkshakes.  I absolutely love milkshakes.  Chocolate and banana is my favorite combination.  Last night we grilled some pineapple for dessert and I made a Nutella sauce by heating it and mixing it with milk.  We ended up with a lot of Nutella sauce leftover and it seemed like a natural addition to a milkshake.  And this idea was born.

Serves 2

Ingredients:

  • Vanilla ice cream, 4-6 scoops {it took 6 to get the consistency we like, but go by preference}
  • 1 banana, sliced
  • 1 1/2 cups milk {I used 1%}
  • 3/4 cup Nutella sauce

Method:

Combine all ingredients in the blender.

Blend until well combined.  Add milk or ice cream to reach desired consistency.

Serve in chilled glasses.

If you’re feeling rather gluttonous, we sprinkled crushed Thin Mints on the top of ours :-)   Enjoy!

Oh great, I already ate some cookies but now I'm totally craving a milkshake. I love your mugs!! I think it's time I started frosting ours, too (for spontaneous milkshake moments like the one that is about to happen…).
